Specifically, flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism, and straightness of interfacing surfaces determine whether the machine toolrsquo;s basic accuracy. Exhibiting less geometric error allows other errors such as thermal growth, ballscrew pitch error, and control error to be isolated and more easily corrected.
