SECTION 11. PIPING SYSTEMS IN ENGINE ROOM

11-1 COOLING SEA WATER SYSTEM

The system consists of three (3) sets of cooling S.W. pumps, two (2) sets of sea chest, two (2) sets of central F.W. cooler and valves, fittings and pipes etc..

The three (3) pumps shall be of same model. Two (2) sets will be used at sea and the third one as stand-by. Any one of them can be used for harbor service.

Cooling S.W. pumps shall take suction from sea main through sea valves and strainers and discharge to central F.W. coolers, then overboard or recirculation in case of cold weather.

The back washing piping for central F.W. coolers sea side shall be arranged if no built-in filter installed in cooler sea inlet.

The condenser of F.W. generator shall be directly cooled by sea water.

11-2 COOLING FRESH WATER SYSTEM

The system consists of L.T. cooling F.W. circuit and H.T. cooling F.W. circuit. The L.T. cooling F.W. circuit includes two (2) sets of low temperature cooling F.W. pump, one (1) set of harbor L.T. cooling F.W. pump, L.T. fresh water expansion tank, valves, fittings and pipes etc.. The H.T. cooling F.W. circuit includes two (2) sets of M/E jacket cooling F.W. pump and one (1) set of M/E. jacket cooling F.W. cooler and accessories etc.

The various consumers for L.T. circuit are listed as follows:

  1. M/E air cooler
  2. M/E L.O. cooler
  3. M/E jacket cooling F.W. cooler
  4. G/E air coolers and L.O. coolers
  5. Intermediate shaft bearing
  6. Main air compressors
  7. Air conditioning plant
  8. Packaged air conditioner for E.C.R. , E/R workshop, and galley
  9. Ref. Compressors
  10. Atmospheric condenser( to be cooled by sea water)

The F.W. outlet temperature from central F.W. coolers shall be designed of 36℃.

The temperature regulating valves shall be provided for H.T. and L.T. cooling F.W. circuits.

Make-up water shall be automatically supplied to M/E jacket F.W. expansion tank and L.T.F.W. expansion tank from fresh water hydrophone system with float valve.

One (1) set of M/E jacket pre-heater and one (1) set of G/E cooling F.W. preheating unit shall be provided.

11-3 LUBRICATING OIL SYSTEM

11-3.1 L.O. Filling and transfer systems

One (1) each separate deck filling line with stop valve and blank flanges shall be arranged on upper deck port amp; stb. for main engine and generator engine system oil.

The main engine cylinder oil filling line shall be arranged on upper deck port amp; stb.

The lub. oil transfer pump shall be arranged to transfer L.O. between the lub. oil tanks in engine room or to discharge overboard via “on deck” filling connections.

The lub. oil transfer pump shall be also used for transfer and drain of stern tube L.O..

A simplex filter shall be provided at suction side of lub. oil transfer pump.

11-3.2 Lub. oil service system

The main engine system oil and piston cooling oil shall be supplied by M/E lubricating oil pump.

The lubricating oil pump shall draw from the lub. oil sump tank and through L.O. cooler, a thermostatic valve and an auto. back wash filter or a by pass filter then enter to the main engine. Lubricating oil shall flow out directly from engine crankcase into the lub. oil sump tank after lubrication and piston cooling.

The lub. oil sump tank shall be arranged in double bottom.

Cylinder oil from cylinder oil storage tanks shall be transferred to cylinder oil measuring tank by a pump. A cylinder oil flowmeter shall be provided.

Cylinder lubricating oil shall be fed to the main engine lubricators by means of a pump station which is mounted on the engine.

Each generator engine will have its own internal lubrication oil system with components built on the engine.

Lub. oil coolers shall have a by-pass valve on the lub. oil side for temperature control.

The stern tube bearing lubrication system shall be of a gravity system.

11-3.3 L O. purifying system

The lub. oil purifying system consists of two (2) lub. oil purifiers, one (1) for main engine and one (1) for generating engines. The L.O. purifiers shall have same capacity and as standby for each other.

Purified oil shall be led to the lub. oil sump tank or lub. oil settling and store tank.

The L.O. purifiers shall also take suction from L.O. drain tank and the purified L.O. be discharged into M/E L.O. settling tank.

Sludge and water from the purifiers shall be led to the purifier sludge tank and the bilge holding tank respectively and shifted to waste oil tank for incinerator or to shore by the sludge pump.

Overflow tank shall be provided for G/E LO purifying system.

Sludge tank to have water drainage cock discharge to bilge holding tank.

11-3.4 Lub. oil drain

Drain oil from the main engine stuffing boxes shall be led to the sludge tank.

Save-all drip pans shall be provided for the pumps, purifiers, filters and tanks of the L.O. systems and led to the L.O. drain tank.

11-4 FUEL OIL SYSTEM

11.4.1 Fuel oil filling and transfer system

The bunker stations will be arranged on upper deck (P amp; S) with filling lines DN200 mm for H.F.O. and DN100 mm for M.D.O. respectively.

The independent filling line shall be led to the H.F.O. storage tanks and M.D.O. storage tank located in cargo hold area and in engine room.

Each F.O. filling connection shall be provided with simplex strain

11-1海水冷却系统

该管系由3台海水冷却泵、2只海水箱、2只中央淡水冷却器、阀件、附件和管路等组成。

3台海水泵应具有相同的型号,其中2台在航行中使用,另1台用作备用,并且每1台泵可以在停泊时使用。

海水冷却泵通过阀和滤器从海水总管中吸入海水并排放至中央淡水冷却器,然后排出舷外或在寒冷气候 条件下进入循环。

对于中央淡水冷却器,如果在海水进口侧无嵌入安装式滤器,那么应在其海水侧安装有反冲洗管系。

制淡装置的冷凝器应由海水直接冷却。

11-2淡水冷却系统

该系统由低温淡水回路和高温淡水回路组成,其中低温淡水回路包括3台低温淡水冷却泵、低温淡 水膨胀水箱、阀件、附件和管路等,其中2台泵在海上航行时使用,而在停泊时仅使用1台泵。高 温回路包括2台主机缸套淡水冷却泵、1只主机缸套淡水冷却器和配件等。

低温回路的各使用设备的清单如下:

  1. 主机空冷器
  2. 主机滑油冷却器
  3. M/E jacket cooling F.W. cooler
  4. G/E air coolers and L.O. coolers
  5. Intermediate shaft bearing
  6. Main air compressors
  7. Air conditioning plant
  8. Packaged air conditioner for E.C.R. , E/R workshop, and galley
  9. Ref. Compressors

11-3滑油系统

11-3.1滑油注入和驳运系统

在上甲板左右舷应分别布置有1只相互独立且带有截止阀和盲板法兰的注入管,分别用于主机和 发电机组发动机系统油。

The main engine cylinder oil filling line shall be arranged on upper deck port amp; stb.

The lub. oil transfer pump shall be arranged to transfer L.O. between the lub. oil tanks in engine room or to discharge overboard via “on deck” filling connections.

The lub. oil transfer pump shall be also used for transfer and drain of stern tube L.O..

滑油循环舱布置在双层底中。

由滑油输送泵将汽缸油从汽缸油储存柜输送至汽缸油测量柜,并且安装有1只汽缸油流量计。
